Ginger Chai / Adrak wali Chai
Chai - just the thought of simplifying this emotion into words feels like a humongous task! Chai is 'the' most popular drink in my country and across the country you will find different forms of chai... Pink chai from kashmir , butterchai from the mountains, spiced masala Chai, ginger chai - there are so many variations through the length and breath of my country. Chai recipe is like that of a good Italian minestrone soup every household has a different one but it's always good!
Here is the recipe 👇🏼to the one that I follow, learnt by my mom of course
1) bring to boil 3 cups of water, now add grated ginger 1 inch to it
2) add 3 teaspoons of a good Indian tea powder and 3 teaspoon sugar and let it brew for 3-5 minutes
3) finally add about 1 cup of milk and let it simmer for at least 5 mins (keep stirring occasionally, or it may boil over)
4) switch off and let it sit for a minute before you serve.
5)I have paired it with some methi khakra in this video.
