Chicken Sukka

Chicken Sukka

Chicken Sukka

This easy,  flavourful south Indian dish goes great with neer dosa, chapati, as a side dish or starter.... Beer and chicken Sukka has always been a thing at our family getogethers, so much so that even my Bengoli husband vouches for this combo now 😄 !

Recipe

1) dry roast 8 dry red chillies, 2 tablespoon dhaniya seeds,  1 tablespoon jeera seeds, 1/2 tablespoon methi seeds (fenugreek), half tablespoon black pepper, 4 cloves, 1 inch cinnamon stick
2) cool and blend into fine powder
3) add peeled garlic (1 whole garlic) into the same jar and coarsely blend
4) heat 1 tablespoon ghee and 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a pan add curry leaves, handful of cashews, 1 onion sliced and fry,  add the masala (prepared earlier), add 1 large tomato chopped,  when oil separates add washed chicken pieces and mix well (I added around 700gms)
5) add salt,  turmeric... If using boneless chicken do not add water it will cook in its own juices,  if the chicken has bones then add just half a glass water and close the pan
6)once chicken is cooked,  dry roast grated fresh coconut 1 cup and mix well
7) add chopped coriander leaves 1 bunch and squeeze in half a lime mix well and serve with onion slices.
